Goal + Impact: At art_works, every project is a gesture that involves far more than putting art on a wall– each is an opportunity to speak to people, places, and values.

For the Alexan Peabody art program, we sourced pieces by New England artists that reflect the concept of home, enhancing spaces where residents may linger, reflect, and connect with their environment.

Two works anchor the program in an unexpected dialogue: Mary Hughes' circular tondo paintings–with their meandering lines evoking topographical maps and nautical charts–speak across the room to Crystalle Lacouture's Where We Meet—a bold composition of undulating waves and a circular sun. While distinct in their approaches, the artists share formal elements and visual motifs.

Elsewhere, Merill Comeau's mixed-media works convey the warmth of domesticity through repurposed materials, exploring memory, endurance, and the myriad moments that make up a life. Cicely Carew's Kinetic print introduces a spirit of joy and discovery, energizing the space with dynamic shapes, layers, and vibrant color. Hannah Jacoby-Brooks and Michael Zachary round out the collection with complementary material investigations in paper—Jacoby-Brooks with surreal intaglio prints and Zachary with luminous CMYK crosshatch landscapes that blur the line between digital and handmade.
