Matilda Peng

About the artist: Matilda Peng is a Boston-based artist who was born in Qingdao, China. She graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in 2023. Working across film, photography, painting, and cyanotype, Peng's studio output examines the nature of perception, frequently juxtaposing imagery with text-based elements. Her cyanotypes capture and blur snapshots of moments, objects, and people through nostalgic blue tones. In 2022, Peng was awarded the SMFA Dean's Research Award Prize and was a finalist for the SMFA Media Arts Annual. That same year, she exhibited at Jupiter Museum of Art in Shenzhen, China; Gallery 263 in Cambridge, MA; and Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, MN.
